Wincanton Golf Course
The 9-hole course has developed into an excellent test of golf for all levels of ability, since opening in 1994. Bushes, bunkers and an extra nine tee off areas have been introduced, as well as a Club House, Pro Shop, catering for all standards of golfers and a cafeteria situated in the picturesque historical barn within the racecourse boundaries.

The length of the course gives plenty of opportunity to open the shoulders, with the extra tees making an interesting back nine holes from different angles to attack the pins. The finishing holes are overlooked by the racecourse grandstands with a challenging Par 3 18th to finish. The approach shots are demanding with the peril of the enormous hidden bunkers guarding the greens. With the large undulating greens renowned for their speed and quality, just reaching the greens is not enough to allow the golfer to relax until the putt is dropped.

Golf societies are welcome and catered for. Special golf/race day events can be arranged. The course gives the impression of a links, and is open all year round, so whether you want to fit in 9 holes, or play a full round of 18, Wincanton Golf Course is perfect to fit into any lifestyle.

Caravan Site
For a peaceful and unique setting the caravan club site has beautiful views of the Somerset countryside including the King Alfred's tower and the Stourhead Woods. There is plenty to see and do in and around Wincanton with the 9-hole golf course in the centre of the racecourse and the site is on the 'Cycle round Somerset' route.

The Fleet Air Arm museum and the Haynes Motor Museum are both within 15 miles of the site and Stourhead House (National Trust) is just 6 miles away and has beautiful gardens that are open to the public. The site provides a quiet holiday location and an ideal touring base for a comparatively unvisited area.
