"Do you race in the Summer?"
We race approximately 17 times a year between October and May.
"I have purchased some badges in advance of a forthcoming meeting. If the meeting were to be abandoned would I get a refund?"
In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on badges purchased will be paid as follows:
- Abandonment before completion of 1st race - full refund
- Abandonment between conclusion of 1st and 3rd race - 50% refund
- Abandonment thereafter - no refund
All refunds must be claimed within 28 days of the race meeting. Please send badges with a covering letter to Wincanton Racecourse.
"We are due to attend a meeting at Wincanton, what is the policy regarding bringing dogs to the course?"
Dogs are permitted in the Course Enclosure only and must be on a on a lead.
Guide dogs are permitted in all areas.
"Is there a dress code in place?"
There is no formal dress code in the Course and Grandstand enclosures. We do ask that smart/casual clothes are worn in the Premier Enclosure. We recommend that you dress for the weather.
"Some friends and I are coming racing. Can we bring our own drinks onto the course?"
You can enjoy your own picnic and drinks in the Course Enclosure. Bringing food and drink into the Premier and Grandstand Enclosures is prohibited. We have a wide range of food outlets in all our enclosures.
"A group of us are travelling to Wincanton by train. How do we get to the course?"
There is a complimentary coach service that operates on Racedays, between the Racecourse and Templecombe Railway Station. This service meets trains from London Waterloo and Exeter. Times vary according to first race times.
"How much does car parking cost?"
Nothing! We have ample parking facilities. With easy access disabled parking.
"Can you recommend somewhere to stay overnight after racing?"
We have a number of hotels and guesthouses in the area. Please contact the Wincanton Tourist Information Office on 01963 31693 for a full list.
