Once you have decided which day you would like to come racing, check the time of the first race as the gates will open 2 hours before that. Which ticket to buy???? A Premier Ticket will give you access to all areas (excluding the Premier Viewing Area) giving you the most choice of where to eat and drink, plus a Grandstand to watch the racing from, which is right by the Winning Post! A Grandstand Ticket is for the middle enclosure where you can place yours bets with the bookies, watch the horses parade before the race, plus there is catering and bars indoors or outdoor units selling burgers and chips etc. A Course Ticket is for the enclosure further down the track. There is a grandstand to watch the racing from, food and drink to buy, plus betting facilities. For an extra cost you can take your car in and park by the rail, and if you like take, a picnic and your dog (provided it is kept on a lead). At Wincanton Racecourse we don't have a dress code unless you are dining in one of our restaurants where we recommend 'smart casual' dress. We advise that you dress for the weather bearing in mind that racecourses can be fairly exposed. Parking is free unless you want to take your car into the Course Enclosure. There are 6 races on each race day and occasionally 7, with half an hour between each race. You can buy a racecard on the day which will list all the horses and jockey in each race.
